It confuses me when I read a romance and the author goes out of her way to make the male lead realistic, i.e. short. WHY?! Victoria Dahl, thankfully, doesn't do this. Her male lead, Chase, is 6'5'', muscled, and blows shit up for a living. When Jane sees Chase for the first time, our thoughts are the same:The entire Tumble Creek series was fun and well-written, even though I thought each book was drawn out a little longer than need be. A nice distraction during the holidays.
